Gudrun's Background

Gudrun has had an interest in horses since a very early age. Growing up in Austria, she decided to obtain a veterinary degree from the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna, whilst actively competing Dressage to Advanced level. Once qualified in 2003, she moved to England and started out working in mixed practice, but she soon decided to specialise in horses and she has been an equine vet ever since.

In the following years in practice, Gudrun developed a strong interest in alternative treatment of back and locomotory problems in order to maximise performance in horses and help alleviate symptoms that traditional veterinary medicine has difficulty solving. In order to pursue this interest, she decided to enrol in the Animal Manipulation Master's Degree Course at the McTimoney College of Chiropractic, Abingdon which she completed in 2012.

Having always had a dressage bias, one of Gudrun's lifelong ambitions recently came true. After her elderly dressage horse retired, she acquired a somewhat tricky project horse (Wes) and started eventing in 2011! She has since managed to qualify Wes for Badminton Grassroots 2014 at BE 100 level and has also ridden her latest acquisition Ginger to Novice level, hoping to step up to Intermediate next season. A four year old filly is also expected to join the team for next year to be competed for an owner.

As well as enjoying her vocation of treating competition and pleasure horses, Gudrun also teaches for the McTimoney college. She takes pleasure in passing on her veterinary and manipulation experience, educating students completing the Animal Manipulation Master's degree course.
